Delete Your Backcountry Beta Account

This page explains how to delete your Backcountry Beta account and what happens to your data. It applies to accounts used in the Backcountry Beta apps for Android and iOS and on the web map at backcountry-beta.app.

How to delete your account

Deleting your account is permanent, removes your content, and signs you out on every device.

  1. In the Android app: sign in, open Profile → account settings → Delete Account, and confirm.
  2. In the iOS app: sign in, open Profile → account settings → Delete Account, and confirm.
  3. On the web map: open the web map at backcountry-beta.app/map.html, sign in, click your user name in the top-right corner, then choose “Delete account…” and type DELETE to confirm.

Accounts with a lot of content may take a few moments to finish deleting; if the process is interrupted you can simply run it again.

Delete some data without deleting your account

You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data. Individual tours, trip reports, observations, photos, saved forecasts, custom zones, and saved Condition Checks can be deleted from within the apps or the web map at any time; shared content can be unshared. Email us to disconnect your identity from analytics without deleting the account.
